Welcome to our dyslexia site!
This website is currently being developed as an information resource for people seeking information and advice about dyslexia. Over the next few months, we will be adding background information, research studies, resource information, practical advice pages and contact details of service providers. Our intention is to assist parents, teachers and adult dyslexics by providing sound research-based advice and information.
It is likely that we will include paid advertising at some point, but the website is committed to including only materials, remedial approaches and other resources/providers which are research-based. Tutors, centres and assessors will be included, but only if those resource/service providers base their approaches on accepted research or tried and true ‘best practice’. Where speculative approaches or new, unproven ideas or theories are mentioned, they will be clearly labelled as such! Please bear in mind, however, that we take no responsibility for the effectiveness of services advertised on this site. Any contract for tuition or assessment services remains between the individuals and providers concerned.
Information on this site is written by qualified specialists in this field or obtained from reputable sources. Sources or references will be quoted where available. If a feature has been written by a provider of services or resources, this will be clearly indicated. When assessing information, please bear in mind that dyslexia is an incredibly complex field. There are many theories of dyslexia and different approaches to remediation and assessment. Information on this site is intended to be comprehensive and unbiased, but may differ in some aspects from opinions held by other clinicians in this field. It is up to individuals to make up their own minds based on information obtained from different sources.
